OUR COMMITMENT

NOT A SERVICE. A MOVEMENT

We're building a movement to make college recruiting education an institutional standard in every high school. When schools partner with CRS, they build internal capacity that will serve their community for years to come.

— THE PROBLEM

THE GAP IS REAL

Talented student-athletes fall through the cracks. Opportunities are missed. Potential goes unrealized.

Currently, quality college recruiting guidance is fragmented and inequitable. Student-athletes from families with financial resources hire private consultants and recruiting services, while others navigate the complex recruiting landscape alone—or not at all.

Even well-intentioned coaches and counselors often lack the time, framework, or resources to provide consistent support. The system is broken—and it's failing the students who need it most.

MISSION STATEMENT

BUILDING THE STANDARD

To build a comprehensive institutional standard that ensures every school can provide equitable, world-class college recruiting education—empowering all student-athletes to pursue their collegiate aspirations, regardless of family resources or external support.

  • When should a student-athlete start the recruiting process?

Earlier than most families realize. While college coaches cannot contact most athletes until a specific point in their high school career, the student-athlete can begin preparing long before that contact is permitted. Building an academic record, developing an athletic profile, researching programs, and understanding eligibility requirements are all things that can and should begin in the freshman and sophomore years. Waiting until junior year — when many families start to panic — puts student-athletes behind and reduces their options. The recruiting process is a journey, not an event.

  • Do I need to hire a private recruiting service or consultant?

No. Private recruiting consultants and services are not required — and for many families, they are not worth the significant expense. The college recruiting process is navigable without outside help when a student-athlete has access to quality education, clear frameworks, and consistent guidance. The challenge has never been that the information doesn’t exist. It’s that most high schools haven’t had the infrastructure to deliver it consistently to every student. That’s exactly the gap CRS was built to close — inside the school, at no cost to the family.

  • How do grades and academics factor into the recruiting process?

Significantly — at every level. Academic eligibility requirements set by the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA determine whether a student-athlete can even compete at the collegiate level. Beyond eligibility, college coaches actively evaluate academic performance as an indicator of discipline, commitment, and coachability. Many programs have internal GPA thresholds that must be met before a scholarship offer is extended. A student-athlete with strong athletic ability but weak academics will find their options limited — often in ways they don’t anticipate until it’s too late to recover. Academics and athletics are not separate conversations in the recruiting process.

  • What does "Right Fit" actually mean in college recruiting?

Right fit means something different for every student-athlete — and that’s the point. It is not simply the school with the biggest name, the highest division, or the most scholarship money. Right fit is the intersection of academic match, athletic opportunity, financial reality, campus culture, location, and personal values. A student-athlete who signs with a program that checks every external box but doesn’t align with who they are will struggle. One who signs with a program that fits them completely — at any level, in any conference — has found their home. Teaching student-athletes to identify and pursue right fit, rather than chasing prestige, is one of the most important things the recruiting process can do.
